Giuseppe La Torre
Full Professor of Occupational Medicine at the Department of Public Health at the Sapienza University, Rome. He is also Head of the Occupational Health Units of Sapienza University of Rome and of the Teaching Hospital Umberto I in Rome.
He got the Degree in Medicine, specialised in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine (Epidemiology and Public Health), Master of Science in Epidemiology and Doctor of Science in Epidemiology.
His main research activities, including design, conduct and analysis, are in the Public Health Epidemiology and Occupational health areas.
He has been President of the EUPHA Section of Public Health Epidemiology.
He published 702 scientific articles on national and international peer reviewed papers, with an H-index of 59. He is in the list of World's Top 2% scientists.
Shizuka Kibi
Shizuka Kibi is a Medical Doctor, resident in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine (Public Health) at Sapienza University of Rome. She was born in Osaka (Japan) and raised in Rome, Italy, graduating from the Faculty of Medicine of the Sapienza University of Rome in 2022. She has been working in the team of Prof. La Torre at the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases, a center for research and surveillance of all factors that could affect health status, both at individual and collective level, since November 2023. Previously she worked at a research study on young people's behavior toward anti-COVID-19 vaccination.
Norma Alfieri
Norma Alfieri is a Medical Doctor specialized in Gastroenterology, she’s currently resident in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine (Public Health) at Sapienza University of Rome. She has been working in Prof La Torre's team since January 2024, involved in research and surveillance of all factors that could affect health status with a focus on the effect of workload on the development of burnout syndrome in Covid-19 intensive care nurses.
Aurora Vocale
Aurora Vocale is a Medical Doctor resident in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine (Public Health) at Sapienza University of Rome. She graduated in 2016 and specialized in respiratory diseases since January 2023. She has been working in Prof La Torre's team since January 2024 and currently engaged in research on health promotion in the workplace and also she’s doing an internship at the center for smoking cessation at the Policlinico Umberto I.
Corrado Colaprico
Corrado Colaprico is a Medical Doctor, resident in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine (Public Health) at Sapienza University of Rome. He has been working in Prof. La Torre's team since 2021. Over the year he has focused on occupational Medicine, performing visits at the University and Hospital outpatient clinics, and on epidemiology, conducting observational studies, randomized clinical trials and systematic review/metanalysis.
Maria Vittoria Manai
Maria Vittoria Manai is a Medical Doctor and a resident in Occupational Medicine at Policlinico Umberto I Hospital, Sapienza University of Rome. She graduated in 2017 from the Faculty of Medicine at Sapienza University of Rome. Since November 2021, she has been a member of Professor La Torre's team in the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases. Her work focuses on occupational medicine, including conducting medical evaluations for workers both within the university setting and at the hospital. Additionally, she is actively involved in research projects, including observational studies, randomized clinical trials, and systematic reviews with meta-analyses.
Luca Moretti
Luca Moretti is a medical doctor who graduated from "La Sapienza" University of Rome and a retired medical officer of the Italian Army. He holds a Master's degree in Nutrition and Applied Dietetics. He has worked for the Rome 2 Local Health Unit and the Italian Red Cross. He is currently resident in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine (Public Health) at Sapienza University of Rome. He has been working in Prof. La Torre’s team since 2021.
David Shaholli
David Shaholli, born in Korçe (Albania) and raised in Rome, Italy, graduated in 2016 in the Faculty of Medicine of the Sapienza University of Rome. He is currently a resident in Occupational Medicine at Policlinico Umberto I Hospital, Sapienza University of Rome.
