The Hôpital Universitaire de Bruxelles (HUB) is an Academic General Hospital in Brussels (Belgium), affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). The Department of Psychiatry for Infant, Child, Adolescent and Youth provides comprehensive care ranging from perinatal to youth-targeted services in 2 sites: in Laeken for children and Anderlecht for adolescents and youth. Clinical activities at the Anderlecht site are organized for both inpatient and outpatient care, addressing the psychopathology of adolescents and youth. Additionally, we actively focus on early detection and intervention in emerging psychopathology in youth, offering individualized care plans.
The Department of Psychiatry Infant, Child, Adolescent and Youth at HUB is involved in a wide range of research projects. In the realm of youth psychopathology, the Transition_psy study has been ongoing since 2020. This longitudinal cohort study aims to assess risk and protective factors contributing to the development of psychopathology in transitional age youth. Employing an innovative methodology, the research project takes a dimensional and trans-diagnostic approach to address emerging psychopathology in youth (see related published articles: study protocol & dimensional model).
